Montclair Youth Turns ‘Garbage’ Into Art, Wins 1st Place In Contest

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A young artist from Montclair captured a first place showing in her category at Essex County’s second annual G’ART’bage Contest.

The competition, which challenged participants to create pieces of art using recycled or reused items, was held at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland on Monday.

Valentina Moscoso from Montclair for winning first place in the 5th to 8th grade category (see photo above).

The artwork was displayed during the Environmental Center’s Earth Day celebration in April.
