Here’s an entertainment industry historical reminder… Montclair resident Stephen Colbert makes his debut as the new host of The Late Show at 11:35 p.m. (EST) on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The show will feature George Clooney, Jeb Bush and Jon Batiste as guests, according to CBS.

If Colbert’s recent Tweet is any indication of what’s to come, his upcoming interview with Bush may prove to be one of the most interesting segments of the evening:

Colbert offers a tongue-in-cheek “About the Late Show” section on the CBS website:

“Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and lest known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed ‘The Colbert Report,’ which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages.”
