More Shows Added To Wellmont Arts Plaza Outdoor Concert Series

The Wellmont Arts Plaza Outdoor Concert Series recently announced their updated lineup of free, all-ages shows happening in Montclair over the next few months. In collaboration with Montclair Jazz Festival and produced by Jazz House Kids, newly announced shows include Spafford, Prince/Bowie, Wallace Roney Jr. and Vanessa Perea as well as the annual return of Montclair Jazz Festival Downtown Jamboree – all outside on the Wellmont Arts Plaza this upcoming season. This new collaboration kicked off at the first magnificent Soundcheck Series show on the plaza last week with Winard Harper & Jelli Posse.

You can catch Prince/Bowie on August 14th and Spafford on September 18th. The Soundcheck Series collaboration includes a 7/25 show with Wallace Roney Jr. and Jason Marshall Quartet, Vanessa Perea on 8/22, and of course the annual Downtown Jamboree on 9/14.

Initial acts announced included Mihali (of Twiddle), Dopapod, Waterbury Road, Working Man’s Jed, Bard Band and The Ries Brothers - with more announcements soon to be revealed.

Located right outside of The Wellmont Theater, the new Wellmont Arts Plaza has hosted numerous live events on its built-in stage since its completion, including Montclair Jazzfest, Happy Fest, last year’s Montclair Jamfest and more. Taking full advantage of the convenient location and walkability of the plaza and its stage, the upcoming series of outdoor concerts seeks to entertain local Montclarions as well as give others a fun, accessible way to enjoy free live music in Downtown Montclair.

Combining live music from national touring acts with specially crafted drinks from the adjacent Pharmacie Bar + Kitchen, attendees can enjoy an unforgettable night of entertainment right in the heart of Montclair. Shows are entirely free and do not require any prior registration, but more information for each show can be found here.
