MPL to Host Second Annual African American Read-In

Celebrating African American literature!

On Thursday, February 4 at 6pm, Montclair Public Library invites everyone to celebrate African American authors by participating in our second African American Read-In! Choose your favorite passage from a book, poem, or speech by an African American and sign up for a two-minute time slot to read your chosen piece aloud. Join us as we come together to read, hear, and shine a spotlight on African American literature.

Please email reference@montclair.bccls.org to sign up and submit your reading.
To attend without reading a passage, please register at montclairlibrary.org/blackhistorymonth or call 973-744-0500 ext. 2235.

About the African American Read-In:
Sponsored by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and endorsed by the International Literacy Association, the goal of the African American Read-In is to document readers making the celebration of African American literacy a traditional part of Black History Month activities.
