In Montclair: Library Patrons Get Free Museum Passes

Cardholders now get free admission to 15 participating museums, including American Museum of Natural History and Montclair Art Museum.

What if you could ponder contemporary art, take in botanical gardens, or view ancient dinosaurs for free?

Sponsored by the Montclair Public Library Foundation, the Montclair Public Library (MPL) plans to increase museum visitation through its Museum Pass Program.

MPL cardholders now have access to free admission to 15 participating museums in New York and New Jersey by borrowing membership passes.

“The library is proud to launch this Museum Pass Program,” stated David Hinkley, library director. “Visiting museums is a great way to supplement education in a fun, informal setting.”

Adults who have a valid, full-service Montclair Public Library card, and are in good standing, may reserve museum passes. Passes can be reserved online, in person, or by phone up to 60 days in advance. Cardholders are limited to one pass per museum during a 30-day period.

Participating museums include: American Museum of Natural History, Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, Children’s Museum of Manhattan, Frick Collection, The Guggenheim Museum, Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum, Liberty Science Center, Montclair Art Museum, Morris Museum, Museum of the City of New York, Museum of Modern Art, New York Historical Society - Library & Demenna Children’s Museum, Stickley Museum, Turtle Back Zoo and Yogi Berra Museum.
