Music Choice Spurred Harassment, Attack In Montclair: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A group of three juveniles allegedly harassed a person in Montclair last week on Bloomfield Avenue, with one of the youths attacking the victim physically, police said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the victim told officers that he was in Seymour Plaza on Friday, when three juvenile males approached him.

The victim said that the juveniles started to harass him about the music he was playing. After they traded words, one of them struck him in the face, knocking him to the ground.

The victim sustained a contusion and abrasions to his face and a cut to his arm. He refused medical attention, police said.

The victim described his attacker as a man about 5 feet 6 inches. No description of his clothing was available.
