New Eatery, Stores Coming to Upper Montclair Plaza
Shopping center's vacant steakhouse at 50 Upper Montclair Plaza will get an infusion of new life.

The space in Upper Montclair Plaza once occupied by Charlie Brown's Steakhouse is getting new occupants, according to a published report.
The Montclair Planning Board on Monday approved plans to turn the site, last renovated abot 30 years ago, into a small new restaurant and stores, The Montclair Times reported.
Paul Sionas of Montclair's Sionas Architecture, which handled the design, told the Planning Board that his firm will demolish the interior of the former Charlie Brown's, lower the building's floor to make it accessible to disabled patrons and modernize the structure's appearance, according to the article.

Sionas said the plan is install 9-foot-high glass walls and a doorway, plus brick vertical columns. Michael Pavel, who owns the building, said he wants work to begin right away, the article said.
