MONTCLAIR, NJ — The links between cannabis and music are well-documented. And that connection between good buds, groovy jams and community-building will soon be on display in Montclair, the owners of Kush Connection say.

Last week, the Montclair Town Council paved the way for two more recreational marijuana dispensaries during their public meeting. Both businesses must still obtain a conditional use permit from the Montclair Planning Board.

“We still have to get through the zoning process, but once that is completed, we'll have everything we need to submit for final inspection by the state,” Jake Kushner told Patch earlier this week.

“Once that is completed, we will begin operations – most likely sometime around 2023's holiday season or early 2024 at the latest,” Kushner said.

Kush Connection will be selling a variety of “high-quality cannabis products” to recreational adult users, including flowers, edibles and concentrates. According to the company, its products will be sourced locally from New Jersey-based cultivators and manufacturers, and will undergo rigorous testing to ensure quality and safety.

In addition to its product offerings, Kush Connection will also offer educational resources to help customers learn more about cannabis and its potential benefits. The dispensary plans to host regular events and workshops to help customers stay informed and up to date on the latest developments in the industry.

Steve and Patty Steele Kushner said they plan to tap into their careers in radio to breathe some character into their themed recreational dispensary.

Steve Kusher said the goal is to make the dispensary a welcoming and inclusive environment that also pays homage to their love of music, art and community.

“We are excited to bring Kush Connection to Montclair and provide our customers with access to high-quality cannabis products, while celebrating what makes Montclair so amazing,” Patty Kushner agreed.

Kush Connection will be located at 135 Valley Road in Montclair, NJ.
