New Netflix Movie Filmed At Montclair Business: ‘Girl Haunts Boy’

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A Montclair business was among the filming locations for a new movie that recently debuted on Netflix.

“Girl Haunts Boy” hit the streaming service last week. It features scenes filmed at White Rabbit Black Heart, which is located at 219 Glenridge Avenue in Montclair.

Here’s how Netflix describes the movie: “When a teen suddenly sees a girl’s ghost after moving into a run-down new home, they must figure out why she’s haunting it – and how to break her curse.”

The Montclair business recalled the process in a recent social media post, sharing a short clip from the film that was shot on the premises:

“In June 2022, White Rabbit Black Heart opened its doors to a world of the supernatural, becoming the eerie and enchanting set of the recently released Netflix movie ‘Girl Haunts Boy!’ For four spine-tingling days, over 100 cast and crew members filled our space with the thrill of the unknown, crafting a story that lingers long after the cameras stopped rolling. From the dark corners of the store to the spellbinding atmosphere we created, every moment was infused with magic.”

The release for “Girl Haunts Boy” is Montclair’s second noteworthy appearance on the big screen that has taken place in the span of a week.

Montclair cinema fans will have a reason to make it out to the theaters when “Exhibiting Forgiveness” opens in theaters this weekend: the film has several scenes that were shot locally and at other spots in Essex County.
