New Nonprofit In Montclair Seeks To Empower Youth With Career, Leadership Training
Kora Kora Corp aims to empower North Jersey underprivileged youth with career and leadership training.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A new nonprofit that aims to empower North Jersey underprivileged youth with career and leadership training is getting ready to launch in Montclair.
Kora Kora Corp will be marking a big milestone when it hosts its inaugural launch event and dance party on Saturday, April 18. The celebration will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. at Arthur Murray Dance Studio, 365 Bloomfield Avenue. Learn more here.
According to a news release, the mission of Kora Kora Corp is to provide a safe haven and leadership training for local students:

“Founded by the Guzman family—co-founders Bernardo Guzman and Rosanna Abreu-Guzman—Kora Kora Corp serves as a vital bridge between the classroom and the real world. Recognizing that traditional high school curricula often lack the space to focus on financial literacy, coaching, and leadership development, the Guzmans designed a program to fill those critical gaps.”
Kora Kora Corp serves high-potential students in grades 8 through 12 across northern New Jersey who may lack access to high-level professional networks or specialized educational resources. Some programs include:

- Mentorship Programs – Pairing students with industry professionals to provide "real-world" insights.
- Leadership Workshops – Intensive sessions focused on soft skills, professional confidence, and civic responsibility.
- Educational Exposure – Providing access to seminars, corporate tours, and collegiate resources that broaden a student’s horizon of what is possible.
“Our mission is to create a sanctuary where leadership is cultivated through trust and consistency,” executive director Rosanna Abreu-Guzman said.
“By securing our own facility and raising scholarship funds, we are providing the stability and equity our students need to thrive,” Abreu-Guzman said.
