Newark Man Attacked After Using Porta-Potty In Montclair: Police

Two men attacked a Newark resident after he used a porta-potty in Montclair, sending the victim to the hospital, authorities said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Two men attacked a Newark resident after he used a porta-potty in Montclair last week, sending the victim to the hospital, authorities said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the assault took place in the Salvation Army parking lot on Trinity Place on Sept. 14. Officers spoke with the victim, a 53-year-old man from Newark, who told them that the men attacked him as he exited a portable toilet in the area.

The victim suffered cuts on his face. Montclair EMS workers treated him for his injuries, then transported him to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center, authorities said.

The victim said one of his attackers was “tall and stocky” and was wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt. He said the other assailant was “shorter;” a more detailed description wasn’t available.
