“For many years Mr. Bartlett and his staff have provided Troop 12 with plants and supplies that enable the plant sales which Troop 12 hosts every Fall, Winter and Spring. In addition to teaching the scouts valuable sales skills, these events are responsible for the majority of Troop 12's operating budget which is used to sponsor many Troop 12 activities. Proceeds are also used to fund scholarships, uniforms, supplies, and summer camp for scouts with financial need. Troop 12's plant sales have also supported the local community as the troop and its customers donate plants to local nursing homes especially during the holidays. During the height of the pandemic, Troop 12 donated the proceeds from these fundraisers to the Human Needs Food Pantry given the spike in demand.”
