NJ Makes Music

Music Live and Local

If you thought the only songwriter from New Jersey was named Bruce, you'd be way wrong. The Garden State is home to many wonderful 100% Jersey musician-songwriters who entertain in local venues as well as those big-ticket arenas and recording studios in NYC. There's nothing wrong with the Big Apple: If you can make it there, etc. But if you live in New Jersey, there are some advantages to live music entertainment in the Big Blueberry (yes - that's the NJ State official fruit). No bus ticket. No bridge or tunnel toll. No parking garage. No $90 meal. No $250 show ticket. No hour and a half to get home when it's all over. And the music is performed by the same folks you'd travel to see in NY.

Your professional musician neighbors live and work and play right under your nose in casual, modestly priced venues. But it's not always easy to find them, since many musicians are not prone to self-promotion and the venues do not always promote the live music. So when you find a gem, share the information. Tell -- better yet, take -- your friends.

You have the chance to hear some of these musician-songwriters on November 10, and to find out where you can enjoy their performances the rest of the time. They'll be singing for you for fun and for free. See you there! http://www.centralpresbyterian.net/events
