NJ Senator Rips DHS Head Over Trump’s ‘Vile’ Comments (WATCH)

New Jersey's Cory Booker didn't hold back when Kirstjen Nielsen denied hearing Trump's alleged comment about "sh******* countries."

Is U.S. Senator Cory Booker a hero or a bully for his emotional outburst against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen during a Senate Judiciary Committee oversight meeting this week?

On Tuesday, Booker – a Democrat who represents New Jersey – went ballistic when Nielsen denied hearing President Trump refer to several nations as “sh*******” during a now-infamous White House meeting on immigration.

“The Commander in Chief, in an Oval Office meeting, referring to people from African countries and Haitians with the most vile and vulgar language… that language festers,” Booker told Nielsen. “When ignorance and bigotry is aligned with power, it is a dangerous force in our country. Your silence and your amnesia is complicity.”

When Nielsen refused to answer additional questions about Trump’s alleged “sh*******” comment later in the meeting, Booker accused her of ignoring the feelings of millions of U.S. citizens.

"For you not to feel that hurt and that pain and to dismiss some of the questions of my colleagues, saying, 'I've already answered that line of questions,' when tens of millions of Americans are hurting right now because of what they're worried about happened in the White House, that's unacceptable to me," Booker charged, bashing Nielsen’s assertion that she couldn’t remember Trump’s specific comments.

Earlier in the meeting, Nielsen – who is responsible for leading the third-largest department of the U.S. government and overseeing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) – also admitted that she has never actually met with any DACA recipients before or after her tenure at the head of the DHS.

After video of the meeting garnered millions of views online, the New Jersey Team Trump committee released a statement that called Booker a “bully.”

“Today we witnessed New Jersey Senator ‘Bully Booker’ try to intimidate Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen,” the group said, ending its social media post with a #MAGA hashtag. “This is what represents the New Democrat Party - a party that publicly degrades and intimidates women. Nielsen is strong and tough. She has class. Tougher than a bully.”
