A disabled NJ Transit train near the Portal Bridge caused delays upwards of 60 minutes to several lines during the Friday morning commute, according to reports.
NJ Transit issued an alert at 9:04 a.m., stating that “NEC, NJCL, M&E and RVL trains are subject to 60 minute delays in/out of NYPS due to a NJT disabled train near Portal Bridge.”
Customers can expect periodic overcrowding in Secaucus Junction, Newark Penn, Hoboken & NY Penn due to current train delays in/out of New York, NJ Transit officials advised around 9:20 a.m.

Cross honoring was temporarily in effect with NJ Transit buses and private carriers, and with the PATH train at the 33rd Street, HOB, and NPS stations. However, NJ Transit provided an update later in the morning that "PATH will not cross-honor NJ Transit train tickets after 10 a.m."
MidTown Direct trains were diverted to Hoboken beginning with train 6620, NJ Transit officials stated.
