NJ Transit Delays: Weather Downs Wires Near Morris/Essex Train Line On Thursday
Delays took place on the Morris and Essex, Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley lines on Thursday, officials say.

Windy weather felled a tree and downed overhead wires on Thursday, causing delays on the NJ Transit Morris and Essex line during morning rush hour, authorities say.
According to NJ Transit Twitter alerts, a downed overhead wire west of Mountain Station caused 20-minute delays both ways between Millburn and New York/Hoboken around 5:30 a.m.

Although crews removed the felled tree from the wire about an hour later, the Morris/Essex line was still subject to 20-minute delays, according to NJ Transit updates.

NJ Transit buses and private carriers were honoring rail tickets and passes system wide, officials stated Monday morning.
Cross honoring remains in effect system wide with NJTRANSIT buses and private carriers.

Thursday’s weather also caused downed trees and delays at other locations on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley lines, officials reported.
