NJ Transit Train Fatally Strikes Man Riding Bike In Montclair
The Montclair-Boonton Line train was headed from Hoboken to Hackettstown. It hit a man riding a bicycle near Watchung Avenue station.

A NJ Transit train struck and killed a man riding a bicycle in Montclair late Monday evening, authorities said.
Montclair-Boonton Line train 1087 struck and fatally injured an adult male on a bicycle near Watchung Avenue station. No injuries were reported to the seven customers or the crew on board at the time, a NJ Transit spokesperson said.

The train departed Hoboken at 8:58 p.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Hackettstown at 11:07 p.m. Montclair-Boonton Line rail service was temporarily suspended in both directions between Walnut Street and Upper Montclair.
NJ Transit police are investigating the fatality. No additional information was immediately available.
