No Trump or Clinton In 2016: Jill Stein Brings 3rd Party Voice To N.J.’s Montclair State
There are alternatives to a Clinton or Trump presidency in 2016, and one of them visited New Jersey for a final campaign push.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — There are alternatives to a Clinton or Trump presidency in 2016, and one of them was in New Jersey as part of a final “third party” push in the days leading up to the Nov. 8 election.
On Friday, Green Party candidate Jill Stein appeared at Montclair State University in North Jersey for her final campaign stop before the election, drawing hundreds of supporters clad in green t-shirts. During the town hall-style meeting, Stein congratulated her supporters – inside and outside of the room – for “refusing to be silenced.”
"Don't throw your vote away on a political system that has thrown you under the bus," Stein said. "Don't waste your vote on these two corrupt political parties."

Referring to Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton as the “queen of corruption,” Stein also had a loaded comment ready to lob in the direction of Republican candidate Donald Trump.
“We say to Donald Trump, we don’t need your friggin’ wall, we just need to stop invading other countries,” Stein told her supporters.

While Stein has lagged behind Clinton and Trump in the polls, there is a solid reason for voting Green Party in 2016, Stein said.
“Just five percent of the national vote for the Green Party Stein/Baraka ticket can be a true game-changer for American politics,” Stein posits. “It will qualify the Green Party for recognition as an official national party, and for federal funding in the 2020 presidential race proportional to the amount of votes received — at least $8 million to $10 million. It would also secure ballot access in a number of states that automatically grant ballot status if the presidential candidate receives anywhere from 1 percent to 5 percent of the vote (varying by state). It means the party can leap over the undemocratic barriers to ballot access for independent parties in many states, and help us lay the groundwork for a truly competitive challenge to the two-party system and the corporate rule it perpetuates.”
