Nonprofit Teaches Youth Glassblowing; Fundraiser Planned In Montclair
A nonprofit that empowers young artists through the art of glassblowing will be holding its largest annual fundraiser in Essex County.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A Newark-based nonprofit that empowers young artists through the art of glassblowing will be holding its largest annual fundraiser in Montclair for 2025.
GlassRoots will be hosting its annual GlassBall event from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5 at the Montclair Art Museum, 3 South Mountain Avenue. Learn more or purchase tickets here.
The event will include glassblowing demonstrations featuring studio artists and a mobile “hot shop.” A cocktail hour will include a meet and greet with the nonprofit’s Youth Entrepreneurial Spirit (YES) teens, who will be showcasing art work they’ve made over the past six months. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase original jewelry, gifts and glassware handmade by local youth.

“As the festivities unfold, we will recognize and celebrate our esteemed GlassBall 2025 honorees: GlassRoots Board Chair, Roger C. Tucker III (whose honoree award will be presented by renowned artist, Willie Cole), John Schreiber, CEO and President, New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), Robinson Holloway, Founder and CEO of Arts 14C and our Young Artist Honoree, Andy Toxtle, Visual Arts Teacher, North Star Academy (Uncommon Schools). Original glass blown vases that serve as the centerpiece at each GlassBall table will be available at auction throughout the evening. Each will be filled with a shimmering collection of handmade glass orbs that will be given to each guest as a gift.”
