Opera Theatre Of Montclair Casting Kids For ‘Hansel And Gretel’

Opera Theatre of Montclair, the 2018 Jersey Arts People's Choice Award Winner as New Jersey's Favorite Opera Company, has begun accepting prescreen video auditions for its children's chorus. Kids are needed to portray Gingerbread Children in OTM's upcoming mainstage production of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel which will be performed on September 22, 23, 29 and 30 at Central Presbyterian Church in Montclair. It will be sung in an English translation from the original German, fully costumed and staged, with a 22-piece orchestra.

OTM's General Director, Mia Riker-Norrie, requests that parents submit a video of their child singing Happy Birthday a cappella (without musical accompaniment) to generaldirector@operamontclair.org . Girls age 15 and under and boys with unchanged voices will be considered for a live audition. Music rehearsals begin in August.
