Parking Closures In Montclair Scheduled This Week At 2 Busy Lots

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A series of closures will take place at two busy parking lots in Montclair this week: Plymouth Lot and the Walnut Street Train Station Commuter Parking Plaza.

"We understand that these closures may cause some inconvenience, but these improvements are necessary to provide you with a better parking experience in the future," a municipal advisory stated.

"We kindly ask for your patience as we complete these upgrades," Montclair officials said. "We are committed to making these lots safer and more convenient for everyone. The following information comes via the township:

Plymouth Lot (across the street from the library on South Fullerton Avenue)

The Plymouth Lot will be undergoing "significant maintenance work," which includes paving and striping to enhance the parking experience for all users.

The work schedule follows below (weather permitting):

• Monday, Sept. 9: The Plymouth Lot will be closed for paving. All vehicles must be removed from the lot by this time to allow for the necessary work to be completed.
• Thursday, Sept. 12: The Plymouth Lot will be closed again for striping. This process will ensure that the newly paved lot is properly marked for optimal parking convenience.

"During these two dates, there will be no enforcement in the surrounding streets," the town's advisory said. "All two-hour and four-hour parking zones will be left alone, however, illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed."

Walnut Street Train Station Commuter Parking Plaza Closure Schedule

The Walnut Street Train Station Commuter Parking Plaza will also undergo maintenance work to improve its condition, officials said.

The work schedule follows below (weather permitting):

• Wednesday, Sept. 11: The Walnut Street Train Station Commuter Parking Plaza will be closed for paving. Commuters are advised to make alternative parking arrangements for this day. All surrounding streets will not be enforced. All two-hour and four-hour parking zones will be left alone.
• Thursday, Sept. 12: The lot will also be closed for striping, similar to the Plymouth Lot. This will complete the process of upgrading the lot for better parking efficiency.
