Passenger Hits Taxi Driver In Face After Dispute: Police

Montclair Police Department: A taxi driver said that a passenger hit him in the face after an argument.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A taxi driver said that a passenger hit him in the face after an argument last weekend, Montclair police announced Tuesday.

According to the Montclair Police Department, an employee of Black and White Taxi reported that he picked up two men on Saturday at Clifton Avenue in Newark and was taking them to Maple Avenue in Montclair.

After arriving in Montclair, an argument broke out between the driver and the passengers, who didn’t have enough money to pay. At that point, one of the men struck him in the face, police said.

The driver described one passenger as a Black male who had short hair with twists, lines in his right eyebrow and light facial hair. He was wearing dark jeans, a black long sleeve shirt and a black vest.

The other passenger was described as a Black male who was wearing a face mask and hat, with a red and black zip up jacket, police said.
