Police Car Chase Ends With Crash On Montclair State Campus

The driver ran into Bloomfield police cars on Normal Avenue.

A police car chase ended with a crash on the Montclair State University campus on Friday.

According to a MSU spokeswoman:

“A motor vehicle pursuit initiated by Bloomfield Police traveled through several jurisdictions with those jurisdictions’ law enforcements in pursuit. The suspect vehicle continued onto Normal Avenue cutting though Montclair State’s Lot 3 behind Panzer Gym, coming out thought Lots 7 and 8 before ultimately crashing into Bloomfield police vehicles on Normal Avenue where the suspect vehicle was stopped and suspect taken into custody by Bloomfield Police.”

Since the university was closed on Friday, no students, staff and faculty were on campus, the spokeswoman told Patch.

A phone call to the Bloomfield Police Department on Friday afternoon seeking more information was not returned.
