Police Find Injured Teen Who Was Shot in Foot

A teen who was shot in the foot over the weekend has been found.

A 19-year-old Mission Street resident who reported he had been shot in the foot Saturday night has been found by police.

The report was made at 8:45 p.m. Saturday. Police found the teen on the front steps of a Mission Street home, according to a press release from the Montclair Police Department. The teen was given medical assistance and taken to University Hospital in Newark.

Montclair Police are still trying to determine if the gunshot wound was self-inflicted or accidental, or if it there were suspect(s) involved in the incident, the release said. Additionally, investigators are trying to determine the actual location in which the incident occurred.

Police said there were no other injuries reported and no weapon has been recovered.
