'The Price Of Liberty': Montclair Film Screenings Return For 2024

The series will kick off Feb. 22 with the screening of "Mann v. Ford."

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair History Center will host its ninth annual “Price of Liberty” film and discussion series on issues related to race, segregation, integration and civil rights.

This year’s 2024 series explores environmental justice sought for communities of people of color in the films “Mann v. Ford” (2011) produced by HBO, and “The Sacrifice Zone” (2020) produced by Talking Eyes.

The series will kick off at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22 with the screening of “Mann v. Ford” at Montclair Film’s Cinema 505 at 505 Bloomfield Avenue. Screenings will be available as a hybrid event for online participation through Zoom and free to the public. Register here.

A discussion will follow with producer/director Micah Fink and scholars Leslie Wilson and Khemani Gibson.
