Pride Progress Flag Will Fly In Montclair At Annual Ceremony
The Township of Montclair will hold its annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Month flag raising ceremony on June 3.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Township of Montclair will hold its annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Month flag raising ceremony on Friday, June 3.
This year’s event will take place at 3 p.m. in the town center at the corner of Church Street and South Fullerton Avenue.
“Join us as we begin Pride Month by flying the Pride Progress flag as a symbol of solidarity with our LGBTQ+ community and the ongoing struggle against discrimination and injustice,” town officials said in a news release.

Speakers will include Montclair Mayor Sean Spiller, Montclair Public Schools Superintendent Jonathan Ponds and Councilor-at-Large Peter Yacobellis, who is also the president of Out Montclair, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering community and providing support and solidarity for the LGBTQIA+ population of Montclair.
