Reader Question: What Have The ‘Summer Of Hell’ Delays Cost You?

Time is the one thing that you can't get back. Tell us what you've sacrificed to the Summer of Hell delays.

The first week of the “Summer of Hell” has come and gone, and to the relief of many Essex and Hudson County commuters, the bulk of the much-feared delays from the ongoing Amtrak repairs at New York Penn Station didn’t live up to the hype.

But that doesn’t mean people aren’t losing time to the Summer of Hell, which is expected to impact Amtrak, NJ Transit and Long Island Railroad passengers until September.

For some, the new arrangement of train schedules means that they spend less time with their families. For others, it means giving up the morning trip to the coffeehouse, or getting less time to study for exams, or having to rush dinner in the evenings.
