Registration Open for 2026 Miss Black America Local Montclair & Diva Competition

Montclair, NJ — Registration is now open for the 2026 Miss Black America Local Montclair Pageant and Diva Competition, hosted by the Jefferson Foundation. The event will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the Wally Choice Community Center in Montclair, New Jersey. Early registration is available through March 1, 2026, offering a $50 discount. Registration will remain open through April 27, 2026, with participant workshops beginning May 4, 2026.

The program features two distinct competitions. The Miss Black America Local Montclair Pageant is open to Black women ages 18–29 and serves as a preliminary to the national Miss Black America Pageant. The Diva Competition is open to ALL women and girls ages 3 to 50+, welcoming participants of all experience levels and backgrounds. Each category is limited to 15 contestants.
Scholarship opportunities will also be announced in connection with this year’s program, with details to follow in the coming weeks.

Founded in 2005 the Jefferson’s Foundation is a Montclair-based nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls through scholarship, mentorship, and leadership development programs.

“The crown represents more than beauty,” said JoAnn Jefferson, founder of the Jefferson Foundation and owner of Jefferson’s Café in Montclair. “It represents responsibility, leadership, and legacy. This pageant creates a space where generations of women can support, mentor, and uplift one another.”
