Restaurants Hopping From Montclair To Ridgewood
Chef Karthik Kumar will be hopping over from the Montclair location to oversee a new Brick Lane Curry House
Nothing makes a certified curry junkie happier than learning about a new curry house! Fortunately for curry lovers, Brick Lane Curry House will be officially opening in Ridgewood this Saturday (11/19).
Though the restaurant is already open for diners, the rare autumnal snow storm dashed plans to "officially" open Halloween weekend.
Located close to the Ridgewood train station, in the heart of downtown Ridgewood, the new Brick Lane is housed in the space at 34 Franklin Ave.
Brick Lane Ridgewood will be quite a bit larger than its Montclair sister location, with 96 seats and an additional private room for parties up to 24 people.
The renowned, gas-mask-wearing chef Karthik Kumar, has temporarily moved from the Montclair location and will oversee the Ridgewood location. Kunal Shah, who has worked for the past two years at the Brick Lane in downtown NYC, will be the manager.
The decor (pictured) will be exactly the same as the Montclair location; warm turmeric walls, soft lighting, colanders, and dark woods.

In other related Montclair-to-Ridgewood news, word is that Montclair's extremely popular Raymond's plans to open a new location in Ridgewood as well.
Sources say Raymond's, which began construction work a few weeks ago after receiving the requisite permits, is eyeing a spring, early summer 2012 date. The brunch hotspot will be located at the corner of E. Ridgewood Ave. and Oak St.
