‘Sabor Montclair’ Will Offer Tastes Of South, Central America: 2026 Fall Events
"Food has the power to bring people together and create a deeper sense of belonging."

MONTCLAIR, NJ — One of Montclair’s most delicious fundraisers of the year will return for another round of food, fun and feasting in 2026.
Sabor Montclair will host its latest event on Saturday, Oct. 10. Montclair residents can purchase authentic takeout dishes prepared by local chefs from Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Peru, giving them a taste of the rich diversity of the town’s famed restaurant scene.
Local foodies can pick up their dinners between 5 and 8 p.m. at Union Congregational Church, 176 Cooper Avenue. Volunteers bring the food to visitor’s cars, so they don't need to find parking.

Here’s what to know about the annual benefit event, which supports the Montclair Fund for Educational Excellence (MFEE):
“For six years, Sabor Montclair has brought our community together around delicious food and a shared belief: Montclair is strongest when everyone has the opportunity to participate, contribute, and belong. Families in MFEE’s multilingual learner programs help shape this fundraiser, featuring takeout meals inspired by their cultures and traditions and prepared by local chefs and community members.”
“Sabor Montclair uplifts the cultures, stories, and languages that make our community so vibrant,” MFEE executive director Masiel Rodriquez-Vars said. “It also raises critical funds so that we can empower families and help students thrive.”
School Superintendent Ruth Turner said the annual event “beautifully captures the spirit” of Montclair.
“Sabor Montclair not only celebrates the extraordinary talents of the mothers participating in MFEE’s Navegadores Escolares program, but also reminds us that food has the power to bring people together and create a deeper sense of belonging,” Turner said.
“It is through celebrations like this that we honor our diversity and recognize that our many unique flavors make us stronger together,” the superintendent added.
