Sales, Glorious Sales: Upper Montclair Is Full Of 'Em

Walk around Upper Montclair and—besides the still-unoccupied former Five Guys Burgers & Fries shop—you'll notice a lot of signs announcing sales. And not just minor sales, but big sales, the kinds that can really make an impact on your spending.

At , for example, the owners have been offering up to 70 percent off the entire store inventory in celebration of their third year in business.

Indeed, it was on a cold January afternoon in 2009 when Crookhorns Men's Wear opened, offering a great selection of men's sportswear and dress attire for the men of Montclair and the surrounding areas. The unique styles and legendary customer service provided by Michael Crookhorn, Claudio Carchia, Ricky Edwards, and Michael Quinn—which includes alterations done the same day, home delivery, beverages, and gift wrapping—has made it the place to get outfitted.

Meanwhile, is being a big cagey, saying in an emailed ad only that Cupid has dropped off some Valentine's Day goodies and that customers should come check them out. The store is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

also is offering a sale on a wide range of items including mirrors, prints, and items for your home, not to mention the store's great selection of pet products for the pampered pet.

You also can't beat Little Daisy Bake Shop and its arrange of cakes and cookies decorated with sports fans in mind. You can expect to see a lot of these just in time for the Super Bowl.

Away from Upper Montclair, on Church Street also is giving customers a good deal. Workers there say it's been a busy couple of weeks and so to make wines easier to find, the staff has decided to take its 12 new favorites and put them together into a discounted "grab and go" case. The result is a $235 value for $199.99!!!
