Superintendent Jonathan Ponds provided a quick roundup after the Nov. 13 forum:
“When you have a moment, please take look at our new Strategic Planning webpage found under the Board of Education on our website. Here you will find the State of the District presentation along with New Jersey School Boards Association’s presentation outlining how these meetings are organized. The group work report will be posted next week. In the meantime, here’s a sample of some items mentioned in groups: providing PREK, having a dedicated staff, offering comprehensive programming at the high school with dual enrollment and vocational options, keeping equity a priority, and having highly-engaged community partners were just some of the items mentioned as strengths. And while equity is always a focus, it was also mentioned as a challenge along with addressing the opportunity gap, budget, sustainability of initiatives, and tutoring. If you would like to join us on November 29, there is still time to register. Hope to see you then.”
Last night more than more than 60 people attended the first Strategic Planning Forum where they broke out into small groups to discuss the District's strengths and challenges. View the presentations and register for the next Forum in 11/29.https://t.co/JOborv2WPW pic.twitter.com/TqhDDH0cCs
