Several Montclair Schools Will Get Solar Panels Under New Project

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A project to bring solar panels to the roofs of several schools in Montclair is underway, according to a courtesy review made at this week’s meeting of the Montclair Planning Board.

Speaking on behalf of the Montclair Board of Education and HESP Solar LLC, attorney Robert Simon and Allison Kimball, an engineer with HESP, offered the planning board some details about the project, which will include installing rooftop solar panels at five properties owned by the school board:

  • Bradford Elementary School, 87 Mount Hebron Road
  • Montclair High School, 100 Chestnut Street
  • The George Inness Annex, 141 Park Street
  • Northeast Elementary School, 603 Grove Street
  • Woodman Field, 22 Essex Avenue
