Shomrei Emunah In Montclair To Hold Repro Shabbat Service
Congregation Shomrei Emunah in Montclair will hold a Repo Shabbat service to support reproductive freedom on Feb. 18.

Congregation Shomrei Emunah in Montclair will hold a Repo Shabbat service to support reproductive freedom on Saturday, Feb. 18 from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Repro Shabbat, organized by the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), is an annual national event created to celebrate a women’s right to choose.
At 11:30 a.m., Aaron Delaney, counsel at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, will present “Defending the Last Abortion Clinic: Inside the Battle for Reproductive Justice in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.” Delaney represented Mississippi's last abortion clinic, Jackson Women's Health Organization – also known as the "Pink House" – for over a decade, including at the U.S. Supreme Court, culminating in last year's decision when the court reversed 50 years of precedent and overruled Roe v. Wade.

Delaney will discuss the highs and lows of this most recent case, as well as talk about some of the people who have fought, and are still fighting, to ensure access to abortion care in the U.S.
Services will led by Shomrei’s Rabbi Julie Roth, along with guest prayer leader, Avi Paradise, founder and musical director of Zamru Princeton, the joyous and musical Friday night services that inspired Zamru Montclair.
