Shooting In Montclair Wounds Bloomfield Teen; Suspect Still At Large
Montclair police found a Bloomfield teenager with a gunshot wound to the stomach. The shooter remains at large, authorities said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A teen from Bloomfield was wounded in a shooting that took place in Montclair on Monday night, authorities said.
According to the Montclair Police Department, officers responded to Maple Avenue and Woodland Avenue around 9:56 p.m. after getting a report about gunshots in the area.
The first officers on the scene saw two people running to a vehicle that was parked on Woodland Avenue. Montclair police stopped the vehicle, finding an 18-year-old male from Bloomfield in the front passenger seat with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Two other males were in the vehicle: the driver and a rear seat passenger. Neither were injured, authorities said.
Montclair EMS and medics treated the wounded teen at the scene. He was then transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he is in stable condition, authorities said Tuesday.

Montclair police found several shell casings on Maple Avenue, authorities noted.
The shooter remains at large, police said.
