MONTCLAIR, NJ — A sleeping man got a rude awakening in Montclair when a group of men robbed him of his phone last weekend, police said.

According to the Montclair Police Department, the victim told officers he was sleeping in the area of Bloomfield Avenue and North Willow Street on Sunday, when a white sedan pulled up alongside him.

Three men got out of the car, then took the victim’s phone “by force” after a brief struggle. No injuries were reported, authorities said.
