School of Rock Montclair’s Rock 101 program, which combines weekly group rehearsals with weekly one-on-one music lessons for young musicians ages 7 to 11, will now present its most prepared students in live concerts at area rock clubs. This new element of the Rock 101 program marks the first time that the participating students will be featured on stage at School of Rock’s seasonal Performance Program shows, which are held at such venues as Just Jake’s in Montclair.

“Rock 101 students who work hard and are serious about shredding in front of a crowd will be invited to open up at one of the shows that features our older Performance Program students,” says Kevin March, General Manager of School of Rock Montclair and also the drummer for indie rock superstars Guided By Voices. “I’m excited to get these budding rockers on stage and also to oversee the entire Rock 101 program.”
