Special Education Discussed At Montclair School Board Retreat

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Board of Education held a retreat earlier this month, outlining board goals for the 2022-2023 school year.

The board discussed several items at the Aug. 8 meeting, including an update on special education in the district (watch the video here).

Last year, an audit was done for the Montclair Public School District amid concerns of racial disparities for special education students. • Rewriting Mission and Vision Statements and Board Goals for the 2022-23 School Year

• Board Secretary Report
• Treasurer of School Monies Report
• Approval of School Breakfast and Lunch Prices, 2022-2023 School Year
• Personnel Report

The next public meeting of the Montclair Board of Education will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the George Inness Annex Atrium at 141 Park Street. The meeting will go into closed session until approximately 7:30 p.m., when it will re-open to the public.
