MONTCLAIR, NJ — Does watching the news make you want to pull out your hair? Is it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel? Then Stephen Colbert and perennial misanthrope Oscar the Grouch have an important message you need to hear: “Things are going to get better… before they get worse.”

Earlier this week, the Montclair resident performed a smile-inducing duet with the iconic Sesame Street character on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

“I overheard you were feeling down,” the beloved muppet quips to Colbert. “So I came to enjoy it… heh heh heh!”

Dubbed “Things Are Going To Get Better (Before They Get Worse),” the song tries to remind people that even if the economy collapses, the housing market implodes and we all end up "living in trash cans" like Oscar, the pendulum of life will always end up swinging in the other direction if we just have the patience to wait it out.
