Student Charged After ‘Threat’ Probe At Glen Ridge High School
Authorities accused a Glen Ridge High School student of making terroristic threats and creating a false public alarm.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Authorities charged a Glen Ridge High School student with making terroristic threats and creating a false public alarm last week. There is no immediate threat to the school or its students, police said.
Glen Ridge police began their investigation at 3:30 p.m. on June 4 after receiving a report that a student made verbal threats to commit acts of violence and harm several classmates.
Authorities identified the juvenile who allegedly made the threats and notified county prosecutors about the incident.

Police later took the teen into custody and charged the youth with making terroristic threats and creating a false public alarm.
The juvenile was turned over to Essex County for processing and the case was referred to the Essex County Family Court.

“This incident remains ongoing and under investigation,” Glen Ridge police said Monday. “At this time there is no immediate threat identified to the school facility and students.”
