Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
This is by Edgemont 2nd grader Maria Linietsky (8 years old).

Hi, I’m Maria Linietsky and I’m in 2nd grade at Edgemont School. Right now, I’m about to be in the school play, A Spoon Full of Sugar based on Mary Poppins. My brother Ben is in it too, along with about 60 other kids.
There are two casts of the show, with about 30 kids each. I’ve been going to rehearsals for a few months. The director is Mrs. Horton. She’s one of the 4th grade teachers at Edgemont.
There’s a lot of singing and dancing in the show. My favorite song is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! The best part of being in the play is you get to do something important and exciting.

The reason why I signed up for the play is that I felt so great after I performed in last year’s play, Peter Pan.
The play is based on the movie, but it’s adapted to fit our school. My part is a Londoner/jockey/banker. My cast will perform twice on Wednesday, May 25 at 9:20 a.m. and 7 p.m. The other cast will perform the next day, Thursday, May 26 at the same times.
Background Information
Every January through May, Mrs. Horton, Edgemont Montessori’s 4th grade teacher, and the students put on a spectacular musical performance for the school. This year’s production is A Spoon Full of Sugar based on Mary Poppins. Mrs. Horton is Director while Mrs. Riker Norrie will serve as Musical Director (alumni parent), and Mrs. Rosenberg as Choreographer (parent). As part of Edgemont’s After School Enrichment Program, students sign up for a 16-week session to learn songs, dances, lines and just have fun. Every child who is interested and auditions gets a part in the play. There are over 60 kids participating in this year’s production. It’s always a treat for the Edgemont community.
