Suspect In Mask Shatters Glass Door Of Montclair Business: Police
A person in a face mask was captured on video breaking the door of a Montclair store in an apparent burglary attempt, police said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — A suspect in a face mask was captured on video breaking the glass front door of a Montclair store in an apparent burglary attempt last week, authorities said.
According to the Montclair Police Department, officers responded to S&K Jewelers on Church Street at 5:05 a.m. on July 20 after getting a report about an activated burglar alarm.
On arrival, the officers saw that the glass front door of the business was shattered. A brick paver was found on the ground inside, police said.

No suspect was found after a check of the premises, police said. However, surveillance video shows a person approach the business at 4:43 a.m., break the front glass door and gain entry into the store.
The person was inside for less than a minute before exiting the store and walking east on Church Street towards Bloomfield Avenue. Nothing was reported stolen, police said.

According to police, the suspect was wearing dark-colored pants, a black and camouflage jacket with reflective material, a hood, dark shoes and a face covering.
