Suspicious Encounter Reported At Montclair Office Building: PD

A witness said she saw an unknown man inside an office building. A locked safe was found to be "tampered with," Montclair police said.

MONTCLAIR , NJ — A witness reported a suspicious encounter with a man at an office building in Montclair last week, authorities said.

The Montclair Police Department released the following statement about the incident, which took place on Nov. 10:

“The complainant reported that she observed an unknown male inside of a Bloomfield Avenue office building that contains numerous individual suites. When confronted, the male asked where the bathroom was located and inquired if someone named ‘Lucy’ was working. When the male left the premises, the complainant observed a locked combination safe had been tampered with.”

Police said the witness described the suspect as a man wearing a black face mask, a black New York Yankees straight-brim baseball cap (with sticker still attached to the brim), a maroon and black Deadpool jacket (with the Deadpool logo on the left side chest), dark-colored pants and tan work boots.
