Teen Mourned After Fatal Fall Near Stadium On Montclair State Campus

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Police have launched an investigation into a fatal fall from a parking deck at Yogi Berra Stadium on the Montclair State University campus on Wednesday evening.

University police responded to Lot 24 at 9:41 p.m., finding an “unresponsive” 19-year-old male at the scene. He was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, MSU authorities said.

The deceased was not a student at the university, and MSU administrators say they are not aware of any other connections he had with the school.

Authorities said they believe the death “was not the result of any criminal actions,” and offered condolences to the deceased person’s family and friends.
