Teens May Have Used Vacant Montclair Home As Party Spot: Police
The home was found with broken windows, damaged doors and empty beer cans strewn about, Montclair police said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Teens may have been using a vacant home on Upper Mountain Avenue in Montclair as a party spot, vandalizing the property and leaving empty beer cans strewn about, police announced Tuesday.
The Montclair Police Department released the following statement after the town’s code enforcement department visited the property on Feb. 27:
“Code enforcement officers reported that they observed that the rear door on the first floor was open. The structure had been heavily vandalized and appears to have had juveniles visiting it. Many of the exterior windows at the rear of the property were broken out. Several doors were damaged as well. Empty beer cans were located throughout the residence and the interior had further signs of intentional damage.”
There was an open rear window that appeared to have been smashed out that will have to be bordered up, Montclair police noted.
