The Origins Walk – LENAPE-34

A Columbus Day 34-mile Trek to Celebrate Nature, Fitness and History

"The Origins Walk – LENAPE-34" is a unique 34-mile one-day hike scheduled to take place on Columbus Day, October 11, 2010.  This event is free and open to the public.

This unique trek incorporates mass transportation for those who want to participate but don't want to walk all 34 miles. The route goes from Millburn to Newark along the Lenape Trail.  Walkers will experience a variety of environments along the Trail, such as residential and industrial areas, parks and natural, pristine environments.

The Lenape Trail is a marked 34-mile trail within the Liberty Water Gap Trail, which stretches over 130 miles across the state of New Jersey, from the Delaware Water Gap to Liberty State Park.
