Tierney’s Tavern In Montclair To Host ‘Lamp For Haiti’ Benefit
Four local music acts from the Montclair area will perform a Sunday afternoon show at Tierney's Tavern to benefit Lamp for Haiti.

On September 9th between 2pm and 6pm, four diverse, local music acts are performing a special Sunday afternoon show at Tierney's Tavern to benefit Lamp for Haiti.
Lamp for Haiti is a non-profit, non-sectarian and apolitical organization that works with and for the people of Haiti to improve the lives of some of the most marginalized persons in Haitian society. The organization operates a full service health clinic and provides community support through education, clean water and sanitation programs.

Lamp for Haiti was founded 12 years ago by Dr. James Morgan of Montclair. Dr. Morgan remains at the helm today and recently he took Alan Smith, of The Porchistas band, to Haiti as part of a documentary video crew. Alan, a long time supporter of the cause, has organized this fundraising concert.
Tickets are $25 at the door and all proceeds go directly to the Lamp for Haiti. Tickets are also available for sale on the Lamp for Haiti website, http://lampforhaiti.org/giving/tierneys-concert/

Performers:
Fretless Youth -established in 2012 with a goal to give the opportunity for players of all ages and skill levels to participate in a string orchestra, as well as put a fun spin on the traditional recital.
Catie Friel - Influenced by American folk, blues, rock & roll, and a variety of world folk traditions--soulful sounds, intricate vocalization, and bold style
Michaela McClain - Michaela McClain, winner of the 2013 "Best Indie Act" at the Jersey Acoustic Music Awards, is a critically-acclaimed, folk-soul singer/songwriter with a "warm groove" and "rich mezzo-soprano voice."
The Porchistas - genre hopping troubadours. Always rock and roll.
There will also be a display of original Haitian artwork, both paintings and tin art, for sale.
This event is a prequel to the larger, annual Lamp for Haiti Gala taking place at Mayfair Farms in West Orange on October 12.
