Versatile Sophomore Boosts MKA Baseball
...Montclair's Mason Ewing all-around contributor for Cougars
The future is very bright for the Montclair Kimberley Academy baseball team which despite a 7-20 season this 2026 spring season, the Cougars will return a wealth of talent in 2027 including Montclair resident Mason Ewing, a sophomore pitcher and first baseman.
"Mason is part of what we consider a strong nucleus as we look forward to next year," said MKA third-year head coach Mike Sasso. "He has a strong arm and a very capable bat to help us both on the mound and at the plate."
Ewing won just one game on the mound with a 5.88 ERA and had 12 walks and 21 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched this spring season.

At the plate he batted .224 on the season.
He remains a pitcher to watch for MKA heading into next season as he had been coming off a fine freshman year on the mound in 2025 when he posted a 2.33 ERA in 21 innings pitched for a superb 18-7 Cougars diamond squad.
