Volunteers Needed For Montclair Rent Control Board: How To Apply

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair officials are seeking volunteers to serve on the town’s newly formed Rent Control Board.

The Montclair Township Council unanimously passed its new rent control ordinance on April 19. The ordinance went into effect on May 9. Read More: Montclair Rent Control Advocates Share Some FAQs About New Law

According to town officials:

“The board shall comprise seven members: three tenants, one homeowner who is neither a landlord or tenant, and three landlords who reside in or own property covered by the rent control ordinance. Members will work with the [municipal] rent control officer to help resolve landlord/tenant issues and provide assistance with understanding and fulfilling the requirements of the ordinance.”
