Watch Montclair Council Meeting: Temp. Budget, Rent Moratorium

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Township Council unanimously passed a temporary municipal budget for 2021, one of several resolutions discussed during its meeting last week.

Township Manager Tim Stafford said the temporary budget will carry Montclair until it introduces its municipal budget by the state deadline of March 30.

Other topics covered at the meeting included:

• Proclamation thanking Ann Lippel for her years of dedicated service in the Township of Montclair
• Ordinance O-21-01: Ordinance amending Montclair Code Chapter 217 (Noise), Section 6 (Internal Combustion Leafblowers)
• Ordinance O-20-24: Ordinance amending Ordinance O-20-08 and O-20-20 to extend the temporary moratorium on rent increase due to the COVID-19 pandemic
• Ordinance O-20-25: Ordinance amending Montclair Code Chapter 121, Section 4 (Permit Fees)
• Resolution R-21-001: Resolution authorizing adoption of the temporary budget for year 2021
• Resolution R-21-002: Resolution authorizing 2020 appropriation reserve transfers pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-59
• Resolution R-21-003: Resolution authorizing 2021 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications
• Resolution R-21-004: Resolution declaring an emergency and directing that Ordinance O-20-24 take effect immediately
